Cross-compile error: bcm_host.h: No such file or directory

On the RPi, that file is in /opt/vc/include/
However it's not in my $RPI_ROOT directory on my 64-bit Ubuntu machine (12.04), so therefore it doesn't find it.

Has anyone got around this?
